CVS cash rebate and an extra $5.00 gift from who?

Went to the CVS drugstore early this morning to pick up something (not somebody, okay?)
paid the $5.95 item at the counter using my $3.00 rebate coupon and the difference with cash. Walked out of the store and seconds later, this lady who was also coming out of the store tapped me on the shoulder and said.....

"Did you just got out of the store? You dropped something near the counter, $5.00 and the cashier is holding it for you"

I don't know what came over me but to go back inside and approach the cashier.

She smiled at me and said, "you're back!"

I smiled and she handed me a $5.00 bill thanked her and walked away.

Then I got to thinking..... I know for a fact that all the singles I have were used to pay for the item I just bought and all I am left of with now are just 20s.
Who dropped the $5.00? definitely not mine
the cashier?
the lady who tapped me on the shoulder?

WHATEVER?!

I have it now and I can use an extra $5.00 for lunch.

Jet 1.20.2008

Yesterday was quite a sad day for me. I lost my favorite pet pigeon named Jet.
I acquired him from two kids (Jet & Jonard) selling pigeon at a local pet market who insisted that I take the pair for just P300. At first, I was very adamant in saying no, simply because I already have too many pigeons but eventually shrugged it off and accepted it. For almost 7 months that passed, this pair quickly became my favorite. Jet and Jona were simply good looking and awesome flyers. Every time I let them off for a training toss, it's always these two who comes home first.

Horror came when I checked on them last Sunday morning. All of the other pigeons were already outside of the loft and doing their business. When I went inside to have a look, I saw Jet quietly sitting inside their nesting box. I took him out to see what's wrong. I practically jump out of my skin when I saw that underneath Jet's feathers around the neck, there is a very deep wound that looked like its been bitten off. I immediately looked around if there are any holes that a rat may have used to enter and to my surprise, there is a huge opening at one of the bottom corner of the loft.

I suddenly felt sad. Knowingly that Jet will not make it through for the next couple of days. I even thought of taking his life to end his pain from the attack but I just simply can't do it. Not to my favorite pigeon. I put Jet back inside the nesting box and took out some meds to clean his wound. While carefully shaving off the feathers around his neck, I saw how deep the wound was. This made me feel resigned that Jet will be leaving me soon.

After cleaning his wound, I sat on the deck to watching the other pigeons. My attention was drawn to Jona, Jet's mate and saw her hanging out with another male pigeon. This is quite strange since I know for a fact that pigeons are very loyal to their partners. After closely watching these two, I immediately know that Jona have found a new partner.

I thought to myself, maybe Jet had told Jona that she will be better off to find a new partner from now on since he is not going to make it through the attack. So she did! and QUICK.

Days had passed since the attack, Jet had hold up and fought to live but the wound was really large and it will be quite impossible for him to survive. That morning when I cared for his wound, I saw Jet's eyes were teary and there was blood oozing out of his nose. I wiped it off with a piece of cotton, placed him back inside the nesting loft and gently stroked the top of his head and said my goodbye. I knew right away that it will be the last time I will see him alive and thanked him for the time he gave me joy when I will sit out on the deck and watch them fly.

Around 4 o'clock in the afternoon, there came in a text message from Gelyn. It reads: "Kuya, wala na si jet" (Jet is gone)

I texted back and told her that I will be coming home soon.

The minute I arrived, I asked my brother to take off Jet's leg band and give it to me and the only way you can do that is to cut off the leg and slip it right out. Quite cruel if you may, but I just want to have something from Jet to make me remember him.

To Jet, I wish you peace.... go fly up in the sky and soar as high as you can. I will see you again someday at the foot of that Rainbow Bridge.

Ukay-UK

Last night was a hoot!
Coming from the mall with my 2 friends (Joselite & Greg) we were invited to have dinner over at Marga's house. Nothing fancy but what we are really after is their famous dish: Laing (Taro leaves cooked with coconut milk) cooked by uncle Domeng and of course, another chance to see Marga and do what we do best, trash talk other people! hahahaha. So it was a unanimous decision that we need to score a space and savor that wonderful dish. En route to Marga's house, we passed by an ukay ukay store nearby. We were actually running late for dinner but Greg yanked us to drop by and check out their new arrivals. Boy! let me tell you... there were so much stuff that I ended up buying this really cool sweatshirt by A Bathing Ape for only P180 (US$4). We could have stayed for long and rummage their stuff but we were really late for dinner so we left in a hurry and forgot to get some dessert. After dinner, Marga asked me to make a signboard for her new hobby.

Guess what?

She is going sell ukay ukay stuff!

Meet Pervy

Last night, Curly sent me a text message if I wanted to meet and get
something from McDonalds and play catch-up. I quickly obliged since
we have not seen each other for ages(over the holidays). So I took a
quick shower, put on a my new sexy underwear and spritz on my
favorite cologne.

Instead of driving going to McDonalds, I took the bus. Once inside,
I found a spot and sat beside this 20something female with a pink
soda shopping bag. She looks okay at first but the horror came in a
few minutes soon after I settled. First, her right knee was brushing
against my leg. I didn't really bother to check what was really going
on until it had become quite... errmmmm... suggestive.
My quick reaction was to look, but she was looking out on the window
pretending nothing was going on. I just quietly moved my leg away
from her and watched the tv program overhead. Moments later, she was
feeling my arms with her hands!

WHAT THE FUCK?!

I looked at her and again, she was looking out in the window like
nothing is going on.

I thought to myself, 2009 is starting to be a joke. All I want for
the new year is more men to come and gravitate towards me but NOT a
female pervert. I've had my share of women hitting on me but not in
this manner and this is just simply atrocious. Before I decided to
move seats. I took out my phone and pretended to be texting, but
little that she knew... I just snapped a photo of her.

Too bad the photo came out bad. It was blurry and you can hardly make
a face out it. I sat there thinking, should I go back and just take
her picture - again? You know, for a better shot this time around? or
just let it pass. Then it got me thinking... if this girl can come up
with so much courage to feel me up. Then I must be really sending off
something quite irresistible. Was it the cologne? Hmmm maybe? my
really cool top? hmmm possible? my new hot underwear? DEFINITELY NOT!
then what is?

The bus halted and I alighted. Walked towards McDonalds and this guy
just smiled at me, twice.

Reality on the 2nd

Just a quick note...
I woke up quite late today and it took me another 15 minutes or so to
actually get out of my bed and actually do something. I was just
there soaking the light and staring blankly on my wall. The previous
night's festivities had really drained the energy out of me and not
to mention the previous days and nights where I had to party and cook
a feast. Glad that the holidays are over. No more force feeding (on
myself) and unnecessary food tripping. Ahhh the joys of just another
regular day where I can vomit after I eat (NOT! it's only a joke)

Tick tock tick tock, then reality struck!

I have a lot of stuff to pack and put away before my trip.
HELP!

Happy New Year

Goodbye 2008...Hello 2009

Now what?
There are a lot of things that need change and one thing is my
blogging. Yes, I have been neglecting it like it's my ugly next door
neighbor. This year, I want to make a lot of entries, do loads of
things and yes, bring you guys something to smile about.

Change has come! (Shout out to Mr. Obama) and 2009 is the dawn of all
that.

It's only a little bit past 10AM, January 1, 2009. I have to cook my
spaghetti sauce, bring it over at my dad's house and get ready for
the annual family holiday get-together.

So, for now, I bid you all

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
